Pretty P.O.V.: Holiday Bests from Crabtree & Evelyn and The Body Shop Wednesday 19 December, 2012
With a only a week left to do your holiday shopping, here are two holiday collections from The Body Shop and Crabtree & Evelyn that will fulfill your gift-giving needs.
I know you: You’re still scurrying around, doing some last-minute holiday shopping. You put it off because you’re busy; I get it. I’m busy too, so posting about some stellar holiday beauty products with only a week until Christmas can be forgiven, no?
See, during the holiday season, some brands release product collections that either encompass the smells and pleasures of winter pastimes or are so gorgeous, they’re perfect for gifting and unwrapping. So since you’re still hunting down perfect presents (I know you are), here are two collections that I’m certain will fulfill your gift-giving needs.
Bottled-up gingerbread? I’m in! The Body Shop‘s holiday offerings smell delectable (gingerbread, vanilla, cranberry…yum), but, beyond that, they all feature natural ingredients sourced from around the globe using community fair trade practices. Good stuff! Those who love sweets will dig the Ginger Sparkle Body Polish and Ginger Sparkle Bath Crystals; those who are fans of The Body Shop Body Butter (and who isn’t? This stuff is iconic in the beauty world) can add the Cranberry Joy scent to their arsenal (which is neither too sweet nor too pungent). Two other items to set out at your holiday soirees: Cranberry Joy Handwash and Vanilla Bliss Hand Lotion. All of these items can be purchased in cute gift sets (one even comes in a gingerbread-man-shaped tin!). Who wouldn’t love opening that?
The Crabtree & Evelyn Golden Petals and Golden Fig collections aren’t necessarily evocative of winter, but they sure would look amazing sitting underneath a tree. The Golden Fig scent blends figs, grapefruit, apple and mangosteen with cedar, white sandalwood and golden amber. To me, it’s a bit on the musky side. Golden Petals combines greengage plum with berries, rhubarb leaf, sugar crystals and florals. This one is sweeter, definitely sugary. Both scents come as Silkening Body Nectar, Bubble Bath & Body Wash, a roller Eau de Parfum or, my personal fave, Shimmering Body Mist, which sprays a subtle gold sparkle on skin. And if you aren’t quite on board with the scents, you can always try one of the Shimmer Lip Glosses, which come in three colors: Champagne Frost, Red Sparkle and Pink Glace. (I’m partial to Red Sparkle, pictured above, which has a hint of gold laced through it.)
There you have it: Two great holiday gifts that you can stuff in stockings or dump under the tree. Happy shopping!
