Pretty P.O.V.: Arcona Triad Pads Wednesday 30 May, 2012

Backstage at this past Fashion Week, I was introduced to Arcona’s Triad Pads. The introduction was brief; I was told these pads are of that much-loved, triple-action breed of beauty items—those heroes that take it upon themselves to do more than just one thing. When Arcona sent me the pads to try out, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. As part of my skincare regimen, toner is near and dear to my skin. I always feel like I haven’t truly washed away the grime of the day until I swipe some toner across my face. And, truthfully, the results are pretty telling: Even though I wash my face with cleanser, when I follow up with toner, my cotton-pad always reveals that I left plenty of dirt and makeup behind. I simply can’t go it alone with facial cleanser; I must have my toner—and I was out of it when Arcona’s Triad Pads made their way into my vanity. Thank the heavens.
Let me start by saying: These pads smell amazing. Every night I faithfully apply my skincare products in my bed, beside my husband. And he has said more than once, “Wow. That smells like candy.” In truth, the pads smell like cranberry because they are seeped in the brand’s popular Cranberry Toner. And what does this Cranberry Toner do? Well, like I said, it “triple acts.” One: It cleanses skin, removing impurities, while protecting it with cranberry, a known antimicrobial. Two: It stops the bad guys, better known as free radicals, from reaping further damage. Three: It feeds skin omegas 3, 6 and 9, as well as rice milk, lending it much-needed moisture. This is all to say: It leaves my skin feeling clean, yet also hydrated and soft—which is something I’ve often found alluded me in a toner. I always felt like I had to pick one or the other: clean-feeling, yet stripped of moisture, or hydrated, yet not-so-clean. These Triad Pads have filled this toner void for me, and rather conveniently—the single-dose pads are pretty much perfect for anyone with lazy tendencies (me). And, also of note: Each pad, down to the last one, held a good amount of the toner—they are soaked with the stuff. Which means they never dried out over the course of 45 days of use (45 pads are included in the jar), and it also means they can cover a great expanse of skin. Which leads me to…
How I use it: I swipe one pad nightly on my face, along my neck, on the back of my neck (very refreshing, let me tell you) and across my chest. And when I lay down to sleep, my skin is faintly scented with cranberries and feels clean-as-can-be.
