Pretty Peek: Thakoon for NARS Nail Polishes Friday 13 April, 2012
Designer Thakoon Panichgul partners with Francois Nars to release a collection of the spiciest, sunniest, most zing-worthy polish colors, Thakoon for Nars Nail Collection. Let the scrambling to own one begin!
As I’ve made plenty clear, the macaroon-color hair at the Thakoon Spring 2012 show is to (hair)-dye for, and now it seems there is more beauty to be had from this gorgeous show: Designer Thakoon Panichgul has teamed with makeup artist Francois Nars to release a limited edition collection of nail polishes inspired by the rich, saturated colors found in Indian spice markets. The six hues comprising the Thakoon for NARS Nail Collection are the type of head-turners nail polish fanatics will love; plus, they clearly mimic the glorious shades used in Thakoon’s cross-cultural Spring 2012 collection—a fresh mix of India’s vibrant Bollywood staples intermixed with the Americana-cool elements of a cowboy (paisley bandana prints and two-tone 10-gallon hats, anyone?).
Each lacquer is an opaque cream with highly-pigmented payoff, and the formula is three-free. When looking at them, I found two color groupings: Your lush reds and pinks (seen above) and the more outré yellow and blues (seen below).
Of course, for the adventurous, I suggest doing some cool color combos, like tipping any of these shades with a line of zingy yellow Amchoor, or even painting each nail a different color from the group.
The Thakoon for NARS Nail Collection is available May 1 on narscosmetics.com, with the exception of that electrifying mandarin-red Lai Mirchi, which is only available at the NARS 413 Bleecker Street Boutique. You know what that means, right? It is officially the most-coveted color from the collection. Countdown to when we’ll be seeing beauty’s biggest “It” girls wearing it on their digits…
Which color is your favorite from the collection?
