Pretty P.O.V.: NCLA The Glitz Gift Set Saturday 15 December, 2012
Ready your nails for the holidays with NCLA The Glitz Gift Set, a trio of gorgeous glitter nail polishes.
‘Tis the season to basically pour glitter all over your nails. Yes, ladies: If you don’t typically wear glitter nail polish for fear of shining a little too brightly (is there such a thing?), you’ll get a pass during the holiday season. Who says? I say.
So let me introduce you to a glitzy little trio of sparkle-packed polishes: NCLA The Glitz Gift Set. What I love about this set: Your glitter flecks come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
First up: Hollywood Hills Hot Number, a potent blend of holographic silver glitter and hexagons that looks brilliant layered over pretty much anything. Holographic glitter instantly brightens any lighter nail polish (like, say, seafoam green) and can also add depth to darker polishes.
Next, we have Miss Sunset Strip, a sparkly mix of purple micro-glitter and hexagons. It’s basically the same as Hollywood Hills Hot Number in terms of glitter size and shape, it’s just got that added punch of purple. But rather than be one shade of grape, it appears to be variegated, with hints of red and fuchsia.
Finally, the pièce de résistance: High Above the City Lights, a special edition pinked rose-gold large flake glitter suspended in clear. I love flakes; they appear as if you panned for gold and came up with these random bits on your nail tips. Everything about their randomness is swoon-worthy.
Could you layer these all together? Sure, why not? But, truthfully, the purple and silver look divine layered over a darker hue (try black), while the rose gold looks sharp over silvery chrome, gold or pink. (Check out my nails in this post; I layered High Above the City Lights over a base of chrome-pink.)
So, no matter how you choose to sparkle, this trio is a winner. Pick yours up at shopncla.com.
Which of these three stunners is your fave?
