Pretty P.O.V.: Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Noble and Cameo Saturday 03 November, 2012
Two striking blue Nail Varnishes, Cameo and Noble, add complementary pops of cool color to the Illamasqua line of nail polishes.
The other day, I asked my goddaughter what her favorite color is. “Teal,” she replied without giving pause. A girl after my own heart! Yes, teal—and pretty much every form of blue—has a special place in my wardrobe and vanity…and a very special place on my nails. And the introduction of Illamasqua‘s latest two true-blue Nail Varnishes, Cameo and Noble—both striking and unusual—only fuels my blue obsession.
(I polished my nails in Illamasqua Noble with one accent nail topped in two coats of OPI The Living Daylights.)
Cameo, a quite sophisticated cornflower, is a great (and certainly edgy) swap-out for traditional purple polishes. Noble, a vibrant turquoise, has a light to it that makes it pop intensely. Both are incredibly pigmented; Illamasqua US Nail Art Ambassador Fleury Rose says, “both are true to color with just two coats, which is often hard to find in a blue varnish.” In my opinion, you could easily get away with one coat—that’s how opaque and full-coverage the color is!
Illamasqua created both blues to complement one another, and they do to gorgeous effect. “It’s fun to play with the two shades together; I would recommend a modern French, or using Noble as an accent nail while painting the rest of the hand in Cameo,” suggests Fleury.
I actually did my digits in Noble, and then accented one nail with glitter—because, sheesh, I can’t get enough of the glitzy stuff. The glitter polish I used? OPI The Living Daylights, part of the Skyfall collection. This snazzy shimmer-depositer is like no other: It blends copper-brown, pewter and turquoise hexagon glitter in a clear base.
Did I nail this blue-and-glitter-accent mani? Which blue strikes a chord with you: Cameo or Noble?
