Pro Logic: 7 Spring-Perfect Makeup Items Friday 05 April, 2013

Afraid you’ll have to change your entire makeup bag when spring finally is sprung? Not so! Allison offers up these seven colorful products that can be easily added into your routine to give you a warmer, spring-fresh look.

A new season doesn’t mean spending your whole paycheck on new makeup (unless you want to, of course!). Instead, build on what you have, using your winter-steady-ready products, but also letting your makeup choices take a hint from nature! Just as you start to see color budding all around you come springtime, start implementing pops of color and different textures into your winter routine. This will help you ease into spring without breaking the bank.

I’ve sorted through several makeup products, and these seven give you a fresh, springtime look when added to your cold-weather makeup items. Try one or all!

Lime-Crime-Liquid-Liners

Lime Crime Liquid Liners

These smudge-proof liquid liners come in including vibrant hues (including the less-vibrant, but totally opaque black) that pack a serious punch. Switch out your everyday neutral liner for Orchidaceous, a bright purple, and finish with black mascara. Feeling super-daring? Stack a few colors on top of one another. The thin precision brush is also great for painting some color onto your lashes. You didn’t know you could do that? Sometimes using items other than mascara will give you colorful lashes!

Colour-Smash-Hair-Shadow

Powder shadow isn’t just for eyes anymore. Rub Tango Mango, a wild tangerine hue, onto the ends of your mane and seal it in with a little hairspray for a punky ombré look. The hair shadows shampoo right out, making it easy to coordinate your hair color with your outfit!

Bobbi-Brown-Shimmer-Brick-Compact

Bobbi Brown’s shimmer brick is one of the most versatile products on the market. Lilac Rose, a fade of baby pinks and purples with a pearlescent finish, is the perfect way to welcome Spring. Tap an eyeshadow brush into any of the shades and apply to your eyelid for a wash of soft color. Swirl a powder brush across the whole brick and apply to cheeks and decolletage for a radiant glow.

Tarte-Lipsurgence-Skintuitive-Lip-Tint

This is one product that you won’t be afraid to share. This soft, glossy “chubby stick” features a formula that responds to your body’s natural pH and energy, leaving you with a totally personalized lip tint.  The collection’s newest shade, Energy, is a soft, romantic pink.

Inglot-Lip-Duo-Lip-Gloss

A girl’s gotta have options. Inglot’s Lip Duo lip glosses feature two cream-gel glosses in complementary colors that can be worn alone or layered for extra dimension. Lips stay nourished with vitamin E and the extreme shine finish is perfect for day or night. Try shade #50, which contains both a light and a deep sparkling purple.

Maybelline-Color-Tattoo-Metal-Eyeshadow

This 24-hour creme shadow gives your lids a metallic pop in seconds flat. Use your finger to apply Bold Gold, a warm antique gold, to your eye for a hyper-reflective yet still subtle look. Layer gray powder shadow on top of Blue Branded, a deep cobalt shade, for a twist on a smoky eye.

MAC-Naked-Pigment

MAC Pigment in Naked

MAC’s Naked Pigment provides warmth and glow wherever you put it! Brush some of this loose powder onto the eyelids and cheekbones to instantly open up your facial features. Add to your foundation or tinted moisturizer for a subtle glow and dewy finish. Mix with body lotion for supple-looking skin. A little bit goes a very long way; don’t be afraid to experiment! —Allison Brooke
