As far back as May, I began musing about what Andy Warhol elements would win their way into the highly anticipated NARS Andy Warhol beauty collection. I was pretty far off on most of my predictions, as evidenced by this sneak peek at the extremely artsy group of eye shadow palettes, lipstick and nail polishes. Here, a look at the core collection of color, plus an advance look at some of the Holiday 2012 sets you can scoop up for that friend who loves her 15 minutes of fame. Plus, just for the fun of it, I select my favorite names from the groups!

Nail Polish: Back Room, New York Dolls, Superstar, 15 Minutes and TV Party

Winning Name: New York Dolls (plus, what a stunning color!)

Soft Touch Shadow Pencil: Empire, Trash, Silver Factory and Heat

Winning Name: Tie between Trash and Silver Factory; when all else fails, go with Trash.

Debbie Harry Eye & Cheek Palette

No names here, but, sheesh: This combo of colors is absolutely gorgeous! It’s inspired by Warhol’s use of “Diamond Dust.” Thus, each of the palette’s colors sparkle with glitter and Diamond Powder, made with real micronized diamonds. Fancy!

POP Flowers Eyeshadow Palettes 2, 1 and 3 (top to bottom)

No names again, just numbers. A fun riff on Warhol’s pop art esthetic. He said, “Pop art is about liking things.” I like these palettes.

Silver Factory Eyeshadow Palettes 1, 2 and 3 (top to bottom)

No names, but look at that imprint! I especially love the dark brown, rose pink and heather blue combo!
