Pretty Peek: MAC by Request Wants YOU! Friday 09 March, 2012
Calling all MAC fans! The brand wants you to help them resurrect some of the most popular MAC discontinued products!
I know you: You carried around that hot-pink MAC bullet of color; you were rarely seen without it. When you wore it down to the nub, you dug out it’s contents with your pinkie nail. (Kinda gross, girl. But, you were desperate! And you didn’t have a lip brush on you! So, tell me to shut up again…) You savored it because you knew, you just knew, it was going to be discontinued. And it was.
Well, no more fond dreams of what used to be; MAC is asking its fans (read: YOU) to vote back into existence your favorite shades. How? Mosey on over to the MAC Facebook page on March 12 through March 30, and start casting your votes on a cherry picked list of bygone oldies but goodies. Now, this isn’t going to be open season: MAC has a ginormous catalog of products, and a lot them are discontinued to make room for all the new, innovative and on-trend products they currently release practically on the daily. So, that being said, the company has hand-picked 18 popular lipsticks, lipglasses and eye shadows from past collections; the three shades with the most votes from each category will come back as an online-exclusive, limited edition collection.
Voting opens to all Facebook fans March 12 through 30. The collection will be available online in North America in August and internationally Fall 2012.
Don’t see your color on this list? Well, MAC listens. They invite you to start your own Twitter campaign; tweet about your long-lost color using: #MACBYREQUEST
You never know; that pink bullet could come back!
