Pretty P.O.V.: Flower Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color in Flamingo Flower Friday 26 April, 2013
I’m pining for the amazing and affordable Flower Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color in Flamingo Flower—and here’s why you should too.
You know you’re on to something special when it’s all sold out practically weeks from it’s release…
A sad fact, but I still feel compelled to write about one of my most recent, greatest and most affordable ($6.98) beauty discoveries: Flower Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Color in Flamingo Flower. I was sent it as a sample for possible submission in the May/June 2013 issue of Nail It! magazine; I gave it twirl to see how it performed. Immediately, I fell for it (and featured it, too!). What got me gushing? The texture is amazing; it glides on smooth and velvety, as the name says, and it has a matte finish. But it’s so much more than simply matte and velvety. It has this translucent quality that somewhat allows your natural lip hue to shine through, making it extremely flattering. I don’t know how else to describe it.
Regrettably (for me), I cut the lipstick up and shot it as a “swish” for the magazine and was left with a small nub of it that I have hoarded due to my inability to purchase it online. By the time I went to buy a replacement at Walmart.com (Flower is exclusively sold by Walmart, and, if you didn’t know, is the brainchild of actress Drew Barrymore), it was sold out. I’d actually wanted to buy Get to the Poinsetta as well, which I think is a true red that probably retains the same velvet-translucent-matte quality as the Flamingo Flower. It also was sold out.
The Walmart.com website does list nearby stores where limited quantities are in stock, but I don’t have a car. So I’ll be obsessively checking the website until it comes back in stock…some day. One can hope.
If you’re near a Walmart, get thee there ASAP so you can snap up these hot, hot, hot Flower Kiss Stick Velvet Lip Colors. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
