Contest: NIVEA Kiss of Style Cap Contest Encourages Creativity Wednesday 01 August, 2012
Pucker up! NIVEA teams up with designer Charlotte Ronson on limited edition A Kiss of Moisture Lip Care cap designs—and you can get in on the action too!
Caring for your lips just got a whole lot cooler and now, thanks to NIVEA, a bit more personal. Starting today (August 1), NIVEA is inviting all lip-crazed fans to put their design skills to the test with the “Kiss of Style Cap Contest,” a fun way to re-imagine the cap on NIVEA’s A Kiss of Moisture Lip Care stick. And who could be a better spokesperson than designer Charlotte Ronson, who’s line of duds combines downtown chic with ultimate ease (and, who I might add, started her own Sephora cosmetics line)? We can see her—and the gal who wears her clothes—slathering on NIVEA Lip Care as part of her effortless beauty.

With her own fashion label, her JCPenney line and her Sephora collection, it’s a wonder that Ronson has the time to add NIVEA spokesperson to her list. But Ronson is no stranger to artistic self-expression and is always up for a new challenge. Ronson kicked off the contest with her own design, spinning the iconic NIVEA blue and ivory hues into a cool tribal print all her own. “It’s inspired by a runway print from my fall collection—geometric with a touch of tribal,” she says.
If Ronson’s design doesn’t get you smacking your lips, you can play designer with your own pattern. Whether you’re rock ’n roll chic, a glamour girl or somewhere in between, NIVEA has options for everyone. Today (August 1), you can log on to NIVEA’S Facebook page and choose your own color palette and designs. Testing it out last week, I can honestly say it’s as addicting as Instagram. I designed a few caps, but my favorite one (seen above in the main image) was inspired by all of the music festivals I’ve gone to this summer.

The contest will be open to everyone for three weeks—so you’d better get cracking. Ronson and a panel of judges will announce the ten finalists on September 5, and from there your likes on Facebook will determine the winner. The NIVEA “Kiss of Style Cap Contest” design will be announced on September 20th and come to life at retail in 2013.
