How many times do you go out for a day at the beach, the park, the place where there’s no escaping the sun? Do you slather on the sunscreen? I bet you do.

And do you protect your hair from the sun’s damaging rays? Here’s where I’m willing to bet you don’t.

And you should. Why? Because in all likelihood, you dye your hair—and that’s an investment. That salon-derived hair hue that your colorist slaved over, you sat under a dryer to achieve, and you forked over the money to flaunt, can be ruined by sun exposure. But, beyond haircolor conundrums, UV rays can actually damage the fiber of your hair—and nobody walks around saying, “Gee, I wish my hair felt like a haystack.”

Read this short ditty on Makeup.com outlining three leave-in strand-savers that will keep your hair shiny, soft and, most importantly, safe from the sun’s rays! And, P.S.: The buzzwords to look out for when shopping sun-specific hair care are “UV filters” and “UV inhibitors.” Now, go have some fun in the sun—and keep your hair looking good as you do so.
