Beauty Mark: Kérastase Paris Taps Icon Kate Moss For New Launch Tuesday 19 February, 2013
Kérastase Paris taps supermodel Kate Moss as muse for the launch of its new Couture Styling collection.
Everybody needs a muse, right? Well, long-time muse holdout Kérastase Paris has finally picked an iconic beauty to draw inspiration from: supermodel Kate Moss. Not only is this the brand’s first time linking itself to a muse (or, if you rather the name “brand ambassador,” whatever lingo you care to use), but it’s also making its first foray into the “styling” category for hair products with the introduction of its line, Couture Styling.
Now, if you’re not a hairstylist, you may be thinking to yourself: “What is a ‘styling’ category?” Hair products are broken into several “categories”—such as treatment or finishing—and “styling” simply means that they are products used to manipulate the hair into a style. Simple enough, no?
How is Kate involved? She’ll be the star of Couture Styling’s campaign, which will debut this May (the corresponding product line will be available June 2013). In this photo campaign, Kate’s tresses are molded and beautified into various glam looks—three, to be exact—by hair legend Luigi Murenu.
“I have been using Kérastase products for years and was excited when this opportunity came up to collaborate with the brand,” Kate says. “I am happy with the images—I like the way my hair is styled—all completely different looks from one another, but all representative of my unique style.”
As an added bonus, Kérastase gives you a look behind the campaign shoot in this video—and, as expected, Kate has incredible “off-duty model” fashion sense in it, to boot.
So, by glimpsing this video, is there a look you’re dying to try? I’m always into the voluminous glammed-out styles, but have difficulty executing them. I wonder if Couture Styling may get me on the right path…
Which look are you most excited about? Sound off in the comments!
