This week, Fear No Beauty made the cut for IFB (Independent Fashion Bloggers) Links a la Mode for December 6! That’s back-to-back weeks this time! I truly only submit a story to them when I think it’s a grand-slam one, and my story, Fear No: Dark Berry Lips 4 Ways is definitely one that I feel is worthy of a second (or tenth!) glance/read. So, if you haven’t read it, check it out!

As with every time I make the Links a la Mode list, I read each and every of my co-linked blogs to learn more about them. I found two to be strikingly interesting: Brunette Blogging’s Blogger Boredom, which explores the cold, hard fact that fashion brands (and let’s not forget beauty brands as well) align themselves with the same small group of bloggers time and time again. Which, is understandable—these tastemakers worked hard to get to the top. But, can also be boring because we’re used to seeing the same people over and over. Which, you know, happens a lot with everything: celebrities on magazine covers (do we really need another Jessica Alba cover? What has she done lately?) to the beauty professionals quoted in magazine articles (but, hey: I get this last one, because there truly are people you can trust time and again to give you best quotes and really know their trends). The second blog posting I thought rules: Undiscovered Worth’s Different is OK, which talks a little about embracing your uniqueness and letting go of worrying about what others think. (Hey, sort of similar to being fearless with your beauty, no?)
